Anybody heard of this mail scam?

I recieved a check in the mail from somewhere called Holiday Cash Connect llc for a few thousand dollars and it said to deposit it in my account. The letter said I had won close to 500,000 but the check was to cover insurance costs. I am positive this was a scam so of course I didn't deposit it. I was just wondering if anybody knows anything about this.
